Verlorenkloof is blessed with the most beautiful surrounding scenery. We wanted to create a space that would draw in the natural surroundings and lay comfortably within the landscape.

The cottage type stone and thatch architecture of the Crofts was not an option due to the size and span required of the building. Function dictated, and the design evolved into a composition of stone, glass and solid masonry, with wonderful volumes and spaces resulting.

The lodge offers a wonderfully welcoming reception. Guests can now browse through our  gallery and gift shop as well as indulge at the Foodspace deli. A common room provides space for meetings but more popularly for sometimes boisterous! TV viewing and leisurely time can be spent having a read in the library or in front of the fire place.  The all day coffee shop has proved a popular stop at the end of each day’s walk and on Sunday’s Faith’s themed brunches are becoming a firm favourite.

NEW!!! MIDWEEK BREAKS

Verlorenkloof now offers a fully catered, special package in the form of midweek breaks. Available out of school holiday periods from Monday to Thursday nights weekly. The package includes croft accommodation, brunch at the lodge and dinner at you croft. Bring nothing but yourself and drinks. All this for only R 850 per person per night.
